DIO Beach Taverna.

Our taverna sits overlooking the beach, open from midday to midnight for lunch and dinner and everything in between.

Our food is simple and traditional but done the very best that it can be .

We offer Greek and Cretan plates with a heavy lean towards fresh seafood and Open-fire cooking, our taverna is small - only 50 chairs, but deliberately so, our aim is to create something special, to highlight local Cretan and Greek dishes that are incredible but rarely offered in touristic restaurants.

Cold beers and chilled local wines match the food and you realise that this is why you are in Greece.

For the day service, a DJ spins background tracks, not to overwhelm or excite – rather to enhance the dining experience.

The DIO objective by day, is to slow things down, to embrace the flavours, sensations and the feelings of being at peace, the simple feelings that are so hard to find in other places.

Feel like a swim between courses? this is the place for it and indeed encouraged even, it is well known that a dip in the sea is a great way to enhance the experience of eating and drinking in the Greek Islands.

As the day moves into the night, the tempo builds and diners arrive, ready for begin their evening adventure. The music program from 5pm brings energy and this continues to build into the night.

Book a table for a sunset dinner then after move to the dancefloor, or book a late dinner and stay till the end before heading off to the nightclubs and bars of Hersonissos to continue your adventure.
