A new venue arrives this summer, one that celebrates the very best of Greece, a hedonistic playground to engage all senses.

Located at the edge of Hersonissos on the North coast of Crete, a town well known for its party lifestyle and numerous bars and clubs, this year in May will see the opening of a new venue that is designed to celebrate the consumption of food, wine and music.
The team behind the 30 years of Starbeach Events, brings you a new chapter in the story of this legendary town. Of all the islands and locations in Greece, Crete is famous for the natural hospitality of its people and incredible food and weather.
Local food and wine of the region are showcased here and combine with the magical sounds of international DJ’s and artists, to deliver an atmosphere where guests can embrace their freedom and celebrate the very best of things in their life.

Agora // A gathering place in ancient Greece
Our agora is faithful to the greedy consumption of life, the drinking of wine, the sharing of food and music, of dancing under the sun or the stars and enjoying all of it in unlimited quantities with the company of old friends and new, until problems melt away, the moment is now and in the end, that is all that really matters.
DIO welcomes all, although only those who share the mindset may stay. We are here for those that seek to feel truly free, even if just for a moment, to enjoy the delights of food, drink and music with passion and without limitation.
DIO by day
Early mornings start with a coffee embracing the solitude of the breeze and the first warm rays of the Greek sun. The day starts slow, for some its sunrise yoga or a swim followed by sweet yoghurt, walnuts & amp; local honey.
DIO has a beautiful sandy beach, a natural bay and is the perfect place to spend hot summer days, tanning and swimming or resting and recovering from an exciting night before.
Active beach-boys tend the sand and sunbeds and deliver chilled fruit, juices or lunch to your sunbed.
There is a beach kiosk on the grass above the beach, offering coffee, snacks, burgers, salads and sandwiches and also rustic beach bar on the sand offering ice-creams and beers and later in the day, shaking mojitos delivered to your sunbed.
As the afternoon arrives, a DJ is mixing soothing deep house and melodic tracks to wake up the slumbering passion for the good times and adventure that lies ahead for the evening.
Sunset and into the night
Dusk and evenings are spectacular at DIO ande the concept truly comes alive.
The daily music program begins at 5pm and the venue is adults only from 7pm.
The nightly sunset at our beach has been famous for generations before us, but now watching these colours evolve while eating, drinking and dancing is something magical and never forgotten.
Nighttime DIO is glamorous and seductive, bookings for the Taverna, for the cabanas and booths or places on the grass are essential – you will be greeted at the entrance by a hostess and shown to your place and your journey begins.
DIO’s beauty comes from its incredible beachside location and immediate surroundings, all the natural elements combine to bring a feeling of awe and delight – this is the beginning, as the sun sets and the sky moves through its colours, it is the consumption of superbly made drinks and plates of food while being fed magical music through the DIO sound system that is the real essence of DIO and the house of DIONYSUS the God of Wine, Celebration, Feasting and Ritual Madness.
Later as the sky turns dark and dusk turns to night, the moon and the stars shine bright overhead, the warm breeze is intoxicating and the beats increase in their tempo and volume and you will find yourself dancing the dance of freedom with family, loved ones, friends and new friends.

Taverna
Our taverna sits overlooking the beach, open from midday to midnight for lunch and dinner and everything in between.
Our food is simple and traditional but done the very best that it can be .
We offer Greek and Cretan plates with a heavy lean towards fresh seafood and Open-fire cooking, our taverna is small - only 50 chairs, but deliberately so, our aim is to create something special, to highlight local Cretan and Greek dishes that are incredible but rarely offered in touristic restaurants.
Cold beers and chilled local wines match the food and you realise that this is why you are in Greece.
For the day service, a DJ spins background tracks, not to overwhelm or excite – rather to enhance the dining experience.
The DIO objective by day, is to slow things down, to embrace the flavours, sensations and the feelings of being at peace, the simple feelings that are so hard to find in other places.
Feel like a swim between courses? this is the place for it and indeed encouraged even, it is well known that a dip in the sea is a great way to enhance the experience of eating and drinking in the Greek Islands.

As the day moves into the night, the tempo builds and diners arrive, ready for begin their evening adventure. The music program from 5pm brings energy and this continues to build into the night.
Book a table for a sunset dinner then after move to the dancefloor, or book a late dinner and stay till the end before heading off to the nightclubs and bars of Hersonissos to continue your adventure..
DJ and music events
There is a nightly music program from 5pm featuring a rotation of local and international artists playing deep house, afrohouse, melodic techno and these genres.
In July and August there will be a weekly event on Sundays featuring international headline acts and live music - these events will be limited capacity and tickets will be available via this website from 1st May, sign up to be notified first.
Private events and exclusive venue bookings are available, there are many areas within our venue and beach that can be made exclusive for your group please contact us to let us know what you have in mind.
New for 2025 is DIO’s Cretan Cooking Masterclass.
This is a daily event for groups of 8 or more and up to 30 people - perfect to celebrate an event or family gathering. Here you will arrive at 3pm for a culinary experience like no other.
Our charismatic local chef Mr Manolis, will host you for the afternoon and into the evening, he will walk you through all aspects of Cretan cooking from the lighting of the fire, preparing of the ingredients, the cooking and seasoning, you will be introduced to some incredible local wines via a tasting session, the consumption of these wines is all part of the cooking process, quick dips in the sea are encouraged until finally Manolis and his team will sit down with you for a marathon feast followed by table dancing, plate smashing and for those up for it, onto the lawn to join the party dancing with the DJ into the night - an experience that our Dionysus himself would approve of and showcasing the very best of Crete.
Absolutely something not to be missed.
DIO Suites
Featuring 4 boutique suites sleeping 2, 4 or 6 people each, this is the ultimate way to experience DIO.
Swims at daybreak, yoga on the grass, coffee at the kiosk and lunch delivered to your balcony, afternoon air-conditioned naps and then as the sun goes down and the music events build up, you have your very own VIP suite fully catered overlooking the venue.
